Maize

Fall Army Worm

  • If incidence of Fall Army Worm is more.
  • To control spray Chlorantraniliprole @ 0.4 ml or Spinetoram @ 0.5 ml per liter of water inside the whorls.
  • Farmers are advised to apply mixture of Sunnam (Calcium) + Sand (1:9 ratio) in the whorls of maize plant at knee high stage to control the Fall Army Worm.
  • Farmers are advised to apply the nitrogen fertilizer as first top dressing @ 50 kg Urea per acre at Knee high stage (30DAS), and as second top dressing @ 50 kg Urea + 20 kg MOP per acre at flowering stage (50-55 DAS) wherever sufficient soil moisture is available.

Stalk Rot

  • Prevailing weather conditions are congenial for the incidence of Bacterial Stalk Rot in Maize.
  • To control soil drench with 4-5 g bleaching powder containing 33- 35% Chlorine around the plant.

Paddy

Stem borer

  • As a preventive measure application of Carbofuran 3CG @ 10 kg per acre to control Stem Borer and Gall midge at 15 days after transplanting in areas of frequent occurrence.

Leaf folder

  • Prevailing weather conditions are congenial for the incidence of Leaf Folder in Rice.
  • To control, spray Cartap Hydrochloride @ 2 g or Chlorantraniliprole @ 0.3 ml or Flubendiamide @ 0.1 ml per liter of water.

Cotton

Fertilizer Management

  • Top dressing of first dose of Nitrogen (25 kgs of Urea/acre) and Potassic (10 kgs MOP/acre) fertilizers is recommended at 20 and 40 DAS whenever sufficient soil moisture is available.

Sucking pests

  • Prevailing weather conditions are congenial for the occurrence of sucking pests in cotton.
  • Advised to go for stem application of Imidacloprid or Flonicamid + Water in the ratio of 1:20 at 30 and 45 days after sowing.

Pink bollworm

  • Dry conditions are favourable for the incidence of Pink Boll Worm in August.
  • Monitor the incidence of the pest by arranging pheromone traps (4 No./Acre) in the field.

Thrips and Aphids

  • If Thrips and Aphids is noticed, to control spray 5ml Neem oil 1500ppm per liter of water as prophylactic measure.
  • If incidence is moderate to severe, spray Fipronil @2 ml or Flonicamid @ 0.3 g/liter of water.

Chillies

Damping off

  • Take up sowings of Gourds (Ridge Gourd / Snake Gourd / Bitter Gourd etc.,).
  • Take up the nursery of Chillies, Tomato, Brinjal and Marigold on raised beds to avoid damping off.
  • Prevailing weather conditions are congenial for the occurrence of damping off in nurseries of Tomato, Brinjal, Chilli and Mari Gold.
  • To control drench the soil with Copper-Oxy-Chloride @ 3 g per liter of water.

Early Blight

  • Prevailing weather conditions are congenial for the incidence of Early Blight in Tomato.
  • To control, spray Mancozeb @ 3 g or Propiconazole @ 1ml per liter of water.

Downey mildew

  • Prevailing weather conditions are congenial for the incidence of Downy mildew in Cucurbits/Gourds.
  • To control, spray Mancozeb @ 2.5 g or Metalaxyl @ 1 g or SAAF (Carbendazim + Mancozeb) @ 2 g per liter of water.

Phytophthora Stem Blight

  • To control, soil drench with Metalaxyl @ 2 g per liter of water.

COW
