Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
- All small and marginal farmer families with cultivable landholding — no upper land ceiling after 2019 amendment
- The family (husband, wife, and minor children) must collectively own cultivable land
- Land ownership must be in state land records at the time of enrollment
- Institutional landholders, government employees, income tax payees, and professional degree holders are excluded

How to Apply for PM-Kisan Income Support
- 1Self-register on pmkisan.gov.in
Go to pmkisan.gov.in → 'Farmer Corner' → 'New Farmer Registration'. Enter Aadhaar number, mobile number, and state.
- 2Enter your land and bank details
Enter your land survey/khasra number, area, and state land records details. Enter your bank account number and IFSC code.
- 3OTP verification
An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Enter it to verify your identity.
- 4Wait for state verification
The state government verifies your land records and uploads the verified data to the PM-Kisan portal. This may take 2–8 weeks.
- 5Receive ₹2,000 installments
Once verified, three installments of ₹2,000 each are credited to your account per year. Check status on pmkisan.gov.in → 'Beneficiary Status'.

Who is excluded from PM-Kisan?

Can tenant farmers apply for PM-Kisan?
No. PM-Kisan is only for farmer families who own cultivable land. Tenant farmers and sharecroppers are not eligible. They should consider KCC and PMFBY instead.
Do I need to re-register for PM-Kisan every year?
No. Once registered and verified, installments are automatically credited each year. You must do an annual eKYC (Aadhaar-based OTP or biometric at CSC) to continue receiving payments.
