Fall Armyworm

  • Due to the prevailing weather condition, the incidence of fall Army worm spreads widely in the Maize fields.
  • As a preventive method, apply 100kg Neem cake per acre and spray 2gms of Bacillus Thuringiensis per liter of water.
  • After the invasion of Fall Army Worm, fix Pheromone traps @ 20Nos. per acre to attract and kill the moths.
  • To control, prepare a solution using 10 liters of water with 100ml Neem oil, 3 teaspoon lime powder, 3 teaspoon turmeric powder, 500ml cow urine, sticking agent or soap, 8 small pelletes of Camphor, 50ml of sprit (First dissolve the camphor with sprit and add it with the solution) stir well and spray the solution on the top of the shoot.

Do's

  • Due to the prevailing weather condition greens and straw should be given to the cow as half (quantity) in the morning and half in the evening after milking.
  • Long and hard stem fodders should be cut into small pieces and fed to the animals.
  • Better to feed the cow with mixture of young foliage and dry grass with hay.
  • Silage should be given after the end of milking, concentrated feed should be given in the morning and evening with equal distribution.

Don't

  • Do not change the fodder and its quantity and it can be changed gradually.
