Past 3 days weather Light rainfall occurred last three days. The maximum and minimum temperatures during the last 3 days ranged for 29-30C and 22-23C respectively. Maximum relative humidity was recorded in the range of 90-95% and minimum from 72-78%. Wind direction was southeasterly with the wind speed of 0.6-0.7 km per hour. Mainly to partially cloudy sky prevailed last three days. Three days cumulative rainfall: 3.2 mm Weather forecast for upcoming 5 days: Light rainfall is expected in this upcoming 5 days. General Advisory
- Farmers are advised to monitor standing crops closely for fungal and bacterial diseases, as rainfall, cloudy conditions and evening fog may increase leaf wetness and humidity.
- Maintain proper drainage in low-lying fields and avoid unnecessary irrigation, particularly in vegetables, rice, soybean and pulses.
- Avoid spraying pesticides, fungicides and foliar fertilizers during rainfall, foggy conditions or when rainfall is expected soon after application. Spray during a dry period with sufficient time for the chemical to dry.
- Harvest mature vegetables, maize, cowpea and other harvest-ready crops during dry weather/clear hours and avoid harvesting when crop surfaces are wet.
- Farmers should monitor crops for leaf spots, blight, rotting and other moisture-related diseases, particularly after consecutive cloudy or rainy periods.
- Protect temperature-sensitive crops, nursery plants and protected-cultivation crops from cooler night temperatures and excess moisture by maintaining adequate ventilation and using suitable temporary protection where required.
