Livestock

Animals

  • Ensure that the drinking water for animals is clean and free from dirt or contaminants.
  • During rainy weather and thunderstorms, immediately stop field work and move the animals to a sheltered and secure location.

Sugarcane

Seed treatment

  • To control fungal diseases, treat the sugarcane setts before planting by immersing them for 10 minutes in a solution of 10 g carbendazim in 10 liters of water.
  • Thereafter, give a biofertilizer treatment by immersing the setts for 30 minutes in a solution containing 10 kg Acetobacter + 1.25 kg PSB per hectare mixed in 100 liters of water.
  • This treatment can help save approximately 50% nitrogenous fertilizer and 25% phosphatic fertilizer.

Planting technique

  • For sugarcane cultivation in medium to heavy soils, open furrows at a spacing of 120–150 cm.
  • A five-foot furrow spacing facilitates mechanical intercultural operations; the spraying of growth regulators, soluble nutrients, fungicides and insecticides; intercropping; sugarcane harvesting; and the retention of trash in ratoon crops.
  • Planting sugarcane seedlings at a five-foot row spacing can help achieve higher yields.
  • Seedling planting: Use 30–35-day-old seedlings raised in trays containing cocopeat and prepared from genetically pure and healthy seed canes obtained from a seed nursery.
  • While raising sugarcane seedlings, treat the cane pieces with fungicides and beneficial microbial cultures.
  • Planting sugarcane seedlings can help achieve a plant population of approximately 35,000– 45,000 canes per acre.
  • Under Supercane Nursery Technology, raise sugarcane seedlings and transplant them when they are 21–28 days old.

Groundnut

Collar rot

  • For higher groundnut yield, apply gypsum at 80 kg per acre at the peg-initiation stage.
  • Collar rot incidence has been observed in some places.
  • To prevent its spread, uproot the infected plants, collect them and destroy them safely.
  • Water logging in some fields has reduced root activity, resulting in yellowing of leaves.
  • To correct this, spray Phule Micronutrient Grade II at 5 ml per liter of water.

Tikka leaf spot and Rust

  • Continuous rainfall and high relative humidity may favour the incidence of tikka leaf spot and rust in groundnut.
  • As soon as symptoms appear, spray Flubendiamide 3.5% + Hexaconazole 5% WG at 25 g per 10 liters of water.

Paddy

Fertilizer Management

  • Maintain the water level in rice fields according to the crop growth stage at 3 to 5 cm during the maximum tillering stage of rice.
  • Apply fertilizer dose of Urea @ 500 gram per guntha.
  • Spray Phule Micronutrient Grade-II @ 40 ml per pump.

Blight and Leaf Blight disease

  • Due to high humidity and frequent rain there may be incidence of Blight and Leaf Blight disease on rice thus to control spray the crop with Hexaconazole 5% E.C. 20ml per 10 liters of water.

Brown plant hoppers

  • Due to frequent rain and high humidity there is incidence of Brown Plant hoppers and Green plant hoppers on rice crop thus to control take spray of Fipronil 5 S.C.20 ml or Imidacloprid 17.8 S.L. 2 ml per 10 liters of water.

Finger Millet

Weed Control

  • Carry out weeding and keep the field free from weeds.
  • Apply the remaining 50% dose of nitrogen at the rate of 650 g urea per guntha.
  • Where water scarcity is experienced, spray 19:19:19 water-soluble fertilizer at a 2% concentration.

Soybean

Yellow mosaic disease

  • Yellow mosaic disease has been observed in some areas. Uproot and destroy the infected plants.
  • To control whiteflies, install 20–25 yellow sticky traps, positioned 6 inches above the crop canopy.
  • If 60–65 days have elapsed after sowing, spray Phule Micronutrient Grade-II at 5 ml per liter of water.
  • Before flowering, spray 13:00:45 water-soluble fertilizer at 10 g per 10 liters of water.
  • If one month has elapsed since installing the pheromone traps, place Helilure in one trap and Spodolure in the remaining three traps.

Maize

Fertilizer Management

  • If 30 days have elapsed after maize sowing, apply the nitrogen fertilizer dose using urea at 35 kg per acre.
  • Spray Phule Micronutrient Grade II at 5–7 ml per liter of water.
  • If 20–30 days have elapsed after maize sowing, spray a mixture of Mesotrione 2.27% w/w + Atrazine 22.7% w/w SC at 70 g per 10 liters of water.

Chillies

Vegetative stage

  • Provide support of soil around the plants.
  • If 1–1.5 months have elapsed since transplanting, apply urea at 20–25 kg per acre.
  • To promote better flowering, apply boron at 1 kg per hectare.

Bitter Gourd

Downey mildew

  • Due to cloudy and humid condition there is infestation of Downey Mildew on the plants thus to of control spray the crop with Metiram 55%+ Pyraclostrobin 5% W.G.fungicide @ 20 gram per10 liter of water

Okra

Fruit borer

  • Due to cloudy and humid weather in last week the incidence of Fruit borer is observed on Okra thus to control the spread remove the infested fruits and bury them away from field.
  • Use Trichocards @ 10 per hector.
  • Farmers from ghat region and middle and east part of district should make arrangement to drain out excess of stagnated rainwater from field

Tomato

Blight disease

  • Due to cloudy and humid condition there is infestation of Blight disease on Tomato crop thus to control spray the crop with Mancozeb 25 gram or Copper Oxychloride 25 gram or Azokzistrobin 10 ml per 10 liters of water. Take 2 to 3 spray alternately.

Brinjal

White Fly

  • Due cloudy condition there is possibility of incidence of White flies thus to control spray the crop with 5% Neem Seed Kernal Extract.
  • Use sticker during rainy period.
  • Use 20 to 25 sticky traps per acre.
