Paddy

Stem borer

  • Nursery: - For management of Stem borer and Gall midge apply Carbofuran 3% granular 25 kg per hectare (Carbofuron 3% granular 250 gm per 100 square meter nursery) should be applied in the nursery 5 days before transplanting.

Chemical Fertilizers

  • Chemical Fertilizers: - Agriculture is profitable if the soil is tested and proper quantity of chemical fertilizers are used.
  • Generally, apply 125 kg Nitrogen, 50 kg Phosphorus and 50 kg Potash per hectare for Summer Paddy.
  • Apply whole phosphorus and potash and half the amount of nitrogen in the mud (Puddled field) and the remaining half nitrogen in two equal installments (usually tillering stage which comes at 30 days and panicle initiation stage which comes about 60 days).

Transplanting

  • Transplanting of Summer paddy crop should be shallow and planting spacing should be reduced to increase the rate of tillering.

Weed Control

  • For control of grassy and broad leaf weeds in paddy crop apply pre-emergence herbicide Pretilachlor 50% EC @ 20 ml per 10 liters of water within 5 days of transplanting.

BUFFALO& COW

  • In animal husbandry, the ratio of monocot fodder crop and dicot fodder crop should be 1:1 for animals.
  • To keep the animals free from diseases, it is very important to keep maximum cleanliness in the barn.
  • Animal health is more likely to deteriorate due to sudden climate change.
  • In this case, it is important to provide your animal with all the necessary facilities related to food, nourishment and shelter so that the health of the animal remains good.
  • If your animal has not been vaccinated against FMD (Foot and Mouth diseases), get vaccinated at the nearest government veterinary clinic as soon as possible.

CHICK

  • There is possibility of increase in temperature hence, protect the poultry birds from heat by covering roof of the shed with paddy straw or grass and make arrangement for sprinkle cold water on the roof of shed during afternoon time.
  • Use wet gunny bags as side curtains to protect poultry birds from direct hot winds.
  • In poultry shed, increase the water pot and provide adequate and clean water for drinking.
  • The air in poultry shed should always be fresh.
  • Do not allow cold or hot air to fall directly on them.
  • The height of the feed pot should be equal to the height of the chicken's back and always fill the feed and water container 2/3.

Chickpea

Pod borer

  • Bio-Control for Pod borer of Chickpea: - Raise 20 Bird perches per hectare, 4 to 5 pheromone traps should be used per hectare, spray 5% neem seed extract, HaNPV 500 LE/Ha should be sprayed.
  • Chemical Control: - Quinalphos 25% EC @ 20 ml or Ethion 50% EC @ 20 ml or Flubendiamide 20% WG @5 ml or Emamectin benzoate 5% SG @ 4.4 gm or Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 % SC @ 2.5 ml per 10 liters of water.

Wheat

Irrigation

  • If limited irrigation available for the crop, irrigate the crop as per recommendations as follows: - If one irrigation available irrigate after 42 days.
  • If two irrigations available irrigate after 21 and 65 days.
  • If three irrigations available irrigate after 21, 42 and 65 days.

Safflower

Sucking pests

  • Monitor for incidence of sap sucking aphids particularly in irrigated / late sown safflower crop and for above ETL level incidence (30% infested plants) undertake spray with dimethoate 30% EC @ 13 ml/10 liters of water.

Chillies

Transplanting

  • Planofix 5 ml mixed with 9 liters of water should be sprayed after 50 and 70 days after planting chillies to reduce flower blight.

Thrips

  • To control Flower thrips, use Blue Sticky Trap.
  • If ETL crossed use Imamectin benzoate S.G. @ 4 gm per 10 liters of water and spray.
  • To control Flower thrips, Beauveria bassiana should be sprayed at the rate of 5 grams per liter of water.

Brinjal

Shoot and fruit borer

  • Before transplanting Brinjal plants, the tops of the plants should be dipped in a solution of dimethoate 30% @ 10 ml in 10 liters of water.
  • Pest management: - Shoot and fruit borer: - If found more than ETL, it is advised to spray one of the following pesticides, Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC. @ 3 ml or Imamectin benzoate S.G. @ 4 gm per 10 liters of water.

Sesamum

Seed rate

  • Seed rate per hectare: - Use 3.0 to 4.0 kg seed for summer season.

Seed treatment

  • Seed treatment: - Seed treatment should be done at the rate of 3 gm per kg of Thirum, Carbendazim or Brasicol and 4 gm per kg of Trichoderma viridae before sowing.

Sowing time

  • Sowing time: - Summer sesame crop should be sown by first fortnight of February.

Sowing method

  • Sowing method: - Since the seeds are very fine, mix sand / sieved manure / ash / soil in equal proportions.
  • Row to row distance 30 cm should be maintained.

Fertilizer Management

  • Chemical Fertilizer application, Time: - At the time of sowing, apply half nitrogen (12.5 kg / ha) and complete phosphorus (25 kg / ha).
  • Apply second dose of nitrogen (12.5 kg / ha) 30 days after sowing.

Micronutrient deficiency

  • Also, at the time of sowing Zinc and Sulfur (in case of micronutrient deficiency) at the rate of 20 kg / ha in the soil increases the yield.
