Livestock

Animal Husbandry

  • Cloudy condition and increased humidity favors suitable conditions for increased population of Ecto-parasites (Lice, flies, ticks, biting flies, midges) creating annoyance, worries and nuisance of livestock.
  • It is recommended that during this period spraying of either 5% NSKE or Herbal solution (Neem oil 15 ml + Karanj oil 15 ml + Soft soap 2 gm + 1 liter water) at weekly interval.
  • It shall be sprayed on body of livestock, shed, water logged bodies, dung pit etc. it acts as repellent as well as helps to curtail life cycle of ticks and flies results in reducing the population of Ecto-parasites.

  • Carry out the intercultural operations like hoeing or hand weeding in Pigeon pea crop to keep the crop weed free.

Green Gram

Powdery mildew

  • Due to increase in humidity and cloudy weather conditions powdery mildew disease is observed in green/black gram crop for management spray Sulphur 80% WP @ 25 gm or Carbendazim 50% WP @ 10 gm or Propiconazole 10% EC 10 ml or Penconazole 10% EC @ 10 ml/10 liters of water during calm and clear weather conditions.

Groundnut

Sucking pests

  • In Groundnut crop due to cloudy condition and increased humidity the incidence of sucking pests is increased and for its management spray Imidaclopride 17.8% SL @ 2 ml or Quinalphos 25% EC 20 ml or Oxydemeton methyl 25% EC @ 20 ml per 10 liters of water.
  • 45 to 50 days after sowing rolling of empty drum (drumming) should be followed in Groundnut crop which helps to penetrate pegs in to the soil particularly in erect and semi erect varieties.

Grapes

Growth satge

  • In Grape orchard if problems of yellowing of the leaves along the margin and reddening of vein is observed, then apply SOP @ 20-25 kg/acre in 3-4 splits through drip irrigation.

Mites

  • If mite infestation is observed, then spay Sulphur 80% WDG @ 15-20 gm or Abamectin 1.9% EC @ 7.5 ml/10 liters of water during calm and clear weather conditions.

Custard Apple

Fruit fly

  • Carry out the intercultural operations in Custard apple to keep the orchard weed free.
  • To enhance the fruit growth in Custard apple spray water soluble fertilizer 19:19:19 @ 10 gm/10 liters of water during calm and clear weather condition.
  • To avoid the fruit fly damage install 5 - 7 Pheromone traps per acre and change the lure every 25 days.

Chillies

Fungal disease

  • Due to cloudy weather and increased humidity the incidence of fungal disease may increases in Chilli crop and for its management spray Sulphur 80% WP 30 gm or Dinocap 48% EC 10 ml or Hexaconazole 5% SC 5 ml/10 liters of water during calm and clear weather conditions.

Onion

Thrips

  • To fulfill the micro-nutrient demand of Onion crop spray Grade-II micronutrient @ 50 gm/10 liters of water.
  • For the management of thrips spray Dimethoate 30% EC @ 15 ml or Lambda-Cyhalothrin 5% EC @ 6 ml/10 liters of during calm and clear weather conditions.

  • In fodder Sorghum crop if the incidence of fall army worm is more than 15- 20% then take a spray of Thiamethoxam 12.6% + Lambda-Cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC @ 5 ml or Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC @ 4 ml/10 liters of water during calm and clear weather conditions.
