Soybean

Harvesting Stage

  • It has been observed that early maturing soybean varieties are ready to harvest in some of the areas.
  • Therefore, farmers are advised to harvest the soybean crop (immediately after change in pod colour) in order to minimize the yield losses due to shattering as well as quality deterioration due to rains.
  • It is also advised to collect the harvested crop and store it in safe place, covering with Tarpolin.
  • The incidences of rains have occurred in some areas last week.
  • Farmers are advised to collect the harvested soybean crop and store in safe place after proper drying (turning 2-3 times a day) and thereafter threshing.

Cotton

Jassid

  • In Cotton crop areas where Jassid crosses ETL, apply Imidachloprid 17.8 SL @ 3 ml/10 litre or Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 2g/ 10 liters or Acetamiprid 20 SP@ 3g/10 liters of water.

White Fly

  • In Cotton crop areas where white fly crosses ETL, apply Imidachloprid 17.8 SL @ 3 ml/10 litre or Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 2g/ 10 liters or Acetamiprid 20 SP@ 3g/10 liters of water.

Pink Bollworm

  • Install pheromone traps @ 5/ha for monitoring Pink bollworm.

Sorghum

Fall Armyworm

  • 5% Neem Seed Kernel emulsion (NSKE) or azadirachtin 1500ppm @ 5ml/1 water.
  • 2. Bacillus thuringiensis variety kurstaki Formulation (Dipel 81@2ml/1 of water or Delfin 5WG@ 2g/1 water).
  • 3. Ragged edged holes: once the larva enter 3rd instar, its feeding cause ragged- edged round to oblong holes on larves. Damage at this stage needs application of chemical pesticides. The choices are Emamectin benzoate 5 SG@ 0.4 g/l or Spinosad 45 SC @ 0.3 ml/l or Chlorantraniliprole 18.5.

  • Farmers should be apply nitrogen after harvesting of M.P. chari.

Viral Infection

  • In present weather conditions, rouging of viral infested crop should be done in chilli.
  • Infected crop should be uprooted and buried in the soil.
  • After rouging, spraying of Imidacloprid @ 0.3 ml per liter of water is advised to control the vector.

Livestock

Ecto-Parasite

  • To control ecto parasite use Butox and also deworming to cattle.

Foot and Mouth Disease

  • Vaccinate the cattle for control of FMD.

Vaccination - Haemorrhagic Septicaemia

  • Cows/ Buffaloes should be prevented from Haemorrhagic Septicaemia (HS) and black quarter disease through vaccination.

  • Cowshed with be whitewashed with lime.
  • Provide green fodder.
  • Cattle should be keep in shade and provide clean and fresh water two times in a day.
