Maize

Tasseling/ silking stage - Rust

  • Spray Mancozeb @ 2.5 g/litre water at three different intervals after sowing.

Paddy

Tillering stage - Blast and sheath blight

  • Farmers are advised to go spraying of Trycyclozole @ 0.6 gm/lit or Corbondizim 1 g/lit for blast.
  • For sheath blight spray Hexaconozol @ 1 ml/lit

Tillering stage - Fall Armyworm

  • Keep poison bites prepared by using rice or wheat brawn @ 1 kg and add 6 ml of Monocrotophos.

Red Gram

Vegetative growth stage - Sucking pests

  • Advised to go for spraying of 2.5 ml Chlorpyriphos dissolved in one liter of water.

Vegetative growth stage - Sterility mosaic virus

  • Uproot the infected plants and burn.
  • Spray Dicofol 20 EC @ 2.5 ml/litre or Prophenophos 0.4 ml/litre at 30 to 45 days interval.

Groundnut

Peg initiation stage - Rust

  • Spray Mancozeb @ 2.5 g/litre water at three different intervals after sowing.

Peg initiation stage - Tikka disease

  • Recommended to spray Corbondizim or capton @ 1 g/lit.

Finger Millet

Tillering stage - Aphids

  • Go for spraying of Dimethoate 30 E. C. 1.7 ml per liter of water.

Tillering stage - Blast

  • Spray Mancozeb @ of 2 g/lit or Carbendizim @ 1 g/lit or Jineb 2.5 g/lit.

Arecanut

Nut maturity or harvesting stage

  • In this stage different diseases will occur.
  • Leaf spot: Spray Mancozeb @ of 2 g/lit or copper oxychloride at 3 g/lit.
  • Hidimundige disease: Spray 225 gm/palm equal proportion of copper sulphate + lime twice in a year.
  • Anabe roga (Ganoderma): Drench Hexaconozole (Contof) solution @ 1 ml/lit or spray Tridemorph 1gm/ litre of water.
  • Spindle bug: Keep 10 g Phorate granules in polythine bag and make small hole and placed near spindle or spray 2 ml/litre Quinolphos.
  • Nut drop or splitting: • Application of borax (2 g/litre of water) during early stages of the disease reduces splitting. • Improve drainage in ill drained gardens
  • Root grubs: Keep insecticides sprayed branches on the bunds of garden. Drench the 10 ml/lit Chloropyriphos 20 EC solution on each palm.
  • Bacterial leaf blight: • Avoid nitrogen application. • Spray 2.0 g/litre copper oxychloride along with 0.5 g/liter Streptocycline at 20 days of interval.
  • Kole roga: Spray 1% Bordeaux mixture.
  • Bud rot: For infected plant use 10 Bordeaux paste @ or 3 percent copper oxychloride after cleaning of infected part by using clean water.

Coconut

Leaf spot

  • Spray Mancozeb 75 W P @ 2 g/litre or copper oxychloride 50 WP 3 g/litre on leaf.

Rhinoceros beetle

  • Remove the beetle from infected part and fill 2 % Quinolphos or 5 % Melathion in sand @ 1:1 ratio.

Black headed hairy caterpillar

  • Spraying of bioagentsviz.,Metarhiziumanisopliae @ 20 g/litre or Baeuarea bassiana @ 20 g/litre or release of parasitoid Goniozous nephentidis @ 20 adult/palm.
  • Root feeding with monocrotophos 10 in 100 ml of water.

Ginger

Vegetative growth stage

  • Control of Stem borer, Leaf spot, Rhizome Rot.
  • Leaf spot: Spray 3 g copper oxychloride 50 WP/liter or 1% Bordeaux mixture.
  • Rhizome Rot: • Provide proper drainage to remove excess water from the field. • Go for drenching of 3 g copper oxychloride 50 WP/liter for the infected rhizomes.
  • Stem borer: Advised to go for spraying Dimethoate 30 EC @ 1.7 ml or 2 ml Melathion 50 EC/litre of water.

Turmeric

Vegetative growth stage

  • Control of Stem borer, Leaf spot, Rhizome Rot.
  • Leaf spot: Spray 3 g copper oxychloride 50 WP/liter or 1% Bordeaux mixture.
  • Rhizome Rot: • Provide proper drainage to remove excess water from the field. • Go for drenching of 3 g copper oxychloride 50 WP/liter for the infected rhizomes.
  • Stem borer: Advised to go for spraying Dimethoate 30 EC @ 1.7 ml or 2 ml Melathion 50 EC/litre of water.

Banana

Leaf spot or Sigatoka

  • As a precautionary measure spray carbendizim + mancozeb (SAAF) @ 2.0 g/litre of water followed by (15 days after) chlorothalanil@ 2.0 g/litre of water.

Panama wilt

  • Drenching of Carbendizim 0.2% or Propiconozole 0.5 ml/ litre once in a month.

Pseudo stem weevil

  • Suggested to give stem injection with 5 ml Chloropyriphos or Dimethoate or spray 2.5 ml of Chloropyriphos per litre of water.

Sugarcane

Tillering stage

  • Control of Shoot borer, Wooly aphids.
  • Shoot borer: Spray Chloropyriphos 20 EC @ 2 ml/litre. By using 300 litre of solution per acre.
  • Wooly aphids: Go for spraying of Chloropyriphos 20 E C @ 2 ml or Thimethiote 30 EC @ 1.7 ml per litre of water.

Black Pepper

Flowering stage

  • To control Quick wilt, Slow wilt, Koleroga.
  • Quick wilt: Spray 0.125% Metalaxyl 72 WP pr 2% copper oxychloride 50 WP or 1% Bordeaux mixture @ 5 to 10 liter per plant.
  • Slow wilt: Add 15 g of Phorate (10 G) or 50 g Carbofuron (3 G) per plant
  • Koleroga: Spray 1% Bordeaux mixture.
