Maize

Vegetative stage - Stem borer

  • Spray 2.0 ml Chlorpyriphos 20 EC/lit water. If necessary repeat the spray 15 days after previous spray.

Red Gram

Vegetative stage - Leaf Webber and Wilt

  • Where ever noticed leaf Webber damage farmers are suggested to go for spray with chlorpyriphos 2 ml/lt. If farmers noticed wilting plants in the field, farmers are suggested to remove the affected plants and drench with carbendazim (1 gm/lt).

Groundnut

Vegetative stage - Irrigation

  • Irrigate the field once in 4 to 6 days depending upon the soil and weather conditions.

Vegetative stage - Red hairy caterpillar

  • Where ever crop reached 25-30 days old, farmers are advised to apply Gypsum @ 200 kg/acre followed by earthing-up. If farmers noticed the incidence of Red hairy caterpillar, farmers are advised to go for hand picking of grown up larvae followed by dusting with Fenvol (0.4%) or Malathion dust (8- 10 kg/acre).
  • Where ever noticed the incidence of aphid and leaf minor, farmers are advised to go for spray with Dimethoate (1.75 ml/lt).

  • Spray 2.0 ml Chlorpyriphos 20 EC in a liter water to the base of the seedlings during evening hours.

Cotton

Flowering stage - Bollworm

  • Cloudy weather with drizzling rain may occur, for this the cotton farmers are suggested to go for 2 % DAP to avoid leaf reddening.
  • Since Cloudy weather encourages the occurrence of boll worms in cotton, suggested to go for spray with profenophos 2 ml/lt.

Banana

Leaf spot

  • There is a possibility of occurrence of leaf spot and suggested to go for spray with carbendazim (1gm/lt). Since forecast of wind speed is increasing there is a possibility of falling of plants. Therefore farmers are advised to go for staking for plants.

Castor

Vegetative stage - Semi-looper

  • Dust Quinalphos 1.5 D @ 8 - 10 kg/acre during morning hours.
