Sorghum

Seed Rate

  • Before Sorghum sowing, the recommended seed rate of 2.5 to 3 kg.

Seed Treatment

  • with 12 gms Trichoderma & 200 gms Azospirillum. Before sowing or on the next day.

Weeds

  • Go for spraying of atrazine 50 WP (400 gram/acre) pre-emergent herbicide in 400 litres of water to overcome the eruption of obnoxious weeds.

Spacing

  • Sorghum seeds are sown at a spacing of 45 cm X 15 cm.

Fertilizers

  • Apply the recommended fertilizer dose (20:10:6) kg N:P:ZnSo4 per acre.

Safflower

  • Before sowing safflower seeds at the recommended seed rate of 3 to 3.5 kg per acre.

Seed Treatment

  • First treated with 200 gram of Azospirillum.

Spacing

  • Sown at a spacing of 60 cm X 30 cm.

Fertilizers

  • Apply the entire recommended dose of fertilizer at the time of sowing( 16:16:4.8:12:5.2) kg N:P:K:S:ZnSo4 for one acre.

Harvesting

  • Prioritze the harvesting activities of the black gram crop, as early as possible, based on weather situation of the region.

Pigeon Pea

Vegetative stage - Weed

  • Simultaneously repeated intercultivation, earthing-up and weeding will aid in luxurious growth of the redgram crop.

DAP

  • As and when rain occurs,apply 50 kg of DAP per acre to the redgram crop in ring method to promote the growth of lateral branches.

  • In some of the regions of bidar district, sterility mosaic disease was noticed . So farmers are advised to rough out the affected plants followed by spraying of dicofol @2.5ml per litre of water.
