  • 44 kg Urea, 66 kg Single Super Phosphate and 16 kg Muriate of Potash are required for cultivation in one acre.

Leaf roller

  • If the crops are attacked by leaf roller insect and population is very low, then infected leaves may be destroyed either by burning or burrying in the soil. If the insect population is high, then spray insecticide Endoexacarb @ 0.5 ml per liter of water.

Blast disease

  • If transplanted rice crops are attacked by blast disease (in which boat shaped brown spot appears on the leaves. The spots have ash colour in center and deep brown stripes on margin) immediately spray the fungicide Beam @ 5 gram per 10 liter of water during clear weather.

Distance

  • Palnt the seed at a distance of 40 - 50 cm (between rows) and 15 cm (between tubers). Dig the trench of about 10 cm. depth and broadcast fertilizer (half dose of urea and full dose of D.A.P. and Muriate of Potash) in this drench.

  • To avoid the contact between fertilizer and potato tuber, spread the FYM mixed with Lindane dust on fertilizer and then place potato tuber at a specified spacing.
