Paddy

Nursery Stage - Blast

  • Monitoring paddy against attack of blast is advised. Spraying of Carbendazim @ 2.0 gram per litre of water is advised.

Nursery Stage- Iron Deficiency

  • Sometimes, in the paddy nursery, if upper leaves of the paddy seedlings become yellow and lower leaves remain green, it indicates the iron deficiency.
  • Spraying of ferrous sulphate @ 0.5 % with 0.25% lime solution is recommended to overcome this problem.

Rice Hispa

  • Rice hispa is expected in rice fields, for management clear the grasses from bunds or spray cypermethrin 10Ec (1ml /litres) or chloropyriphos 20 EC (2.5ml /litres) of water.

Leaf Folder

  • Rice leaf folder is also appearing for control spray chloropyriphos 20 EC (2.5ml /litres) of water.

False Smut

  • False smut expected in paddy crop. Symptoms include increase in grains size with brown colored fungus inside.
  • Spraying of Blitox @ 500 grams per acre at 10 days interval (2 -3 times) is advised.

Stem Borer

  • For stem borer is above ETL, broadcast of Cartap 4% granules or carbofuran 3% G @ 10 kg/acre or chlorpyriphos 20 EC @ 2 ml/ litre of water for effective control is recommended.
  • Farmers are advised to install pest specific pheromone traps @ 3-4/acre in the paddy fields for monitoring of stem borer.

Cut worm

  • In case of severe problem of cutworms in vegetable crops, apply chlorpyriphos 20 EC @ 2 litrs of water mixed with 25 kg sand per hectare.

Fruit Fly

  • Attack of fruit fly expected in this weather in cucurbitaceous crops use of ‘Methyl Eugenol’ trap is advised.
  • For control spraying of Rogor @ 2 ml + 10 g sugar or jaggary / litre water at 50 litres/ha is advised after clear sky.

Creepers

  • The creepers should be lifted above the ground on a trellis made of bamboo.

  • Advised to sow nursery of mid-season cabbage in poly house in mid hills and lower region.

Tea Picking

  • Picking in tea at 8-10 days interval to maintain the quality and productivity. Lopping of shade tress advised in tea orchards.

Blister blight

  • Weather is conducive for attack of blister blight in shady and high humid areas, for precautionary measure spray calixin @ 0.2% or folicure 0.1%.
  • If attack is severe then repeat spray at 15 days with alternate spray of blitox 0.3% at seven days interval.
  • It is optimum time for new plantation of tea plants or for infilling of gaps with new plants.

Mealy Bug

  • For control of mealy bug spray Deltamethrin (Decis 2.8 EC @ 1340 ml in 750 litres of water for one hectare.

Mites

  • For the control of mites spray Dicofol (kelethane) @ 2025 ml in 750 litres of water for one hectare. Repeat the spray at 15 days interval. Spray immediately after plucking.
