  • Wherever irrigation facilities are available, farmers are advised to take up sowing of perennial fodder grasses to avoid fodder shortage during summer.

  • Banana crop is at vegetative stage.
  • Present weather conditions are favourable for incidence of Rhizome rot in banana.
  • To control, farmers are advised to drenching of copper oxy chloride @2.0 g + streptocycline @ 0.5gm/L of water.

Groundnut

Sucking pests

  • Under borewell conditions, Early-sown groundnut is at the Pegging to Pod development stage.
  • Present weather conditions are congenial for sucking pest and Helicoverpa incidence in June II FN sowned groundnut crop under bore wells.
  • To control, Sucking pest control, install sticky traps (10 nos/acre) and pheromone traps (04 nos/acre) in groundnut field to monitor sucking and leaf eating pests.
  • Intensity of infestation to spray imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 0.4 ml/l of water for the control of sucking pests at ETL.

Helicoverpa

  • For control of Helicoverpa, Install bird perches (04 nos/acre for collection and destruction of egg, larval populations by nesting birds).
  • To Spray quinalphos 2.0 ml and neem oil 5 ml/liter of water at initial stages and later stages to spray with Novaluron 25% EC @ 1 ml/lit of water or Emamectin benzoate 5% SG @ 0.5 g/l of water for the control of leaf eating pests.

Leaf spot

  • To control leaf spot, Farmers are advised to spray imidacloprid @ 0.3 ml or l and hexaconazole @2 ml or carbendazim @1 g/ liter of water.

Red Gram

Weed Control

  • For early sown redgram, Farmers are advised to take up intercultivation at 20 to 30 days after sowing to maintain weed free condition and also take up thinning.
  • Early sown redgram is at vegetative stage.
  • As dry weather conditions are prevailing, farmers are advised to spray 19:19:19 @ 5 g per liter of water as a foliar spray to help the crop withstand moisture stress and minimize the adverse effects of drought.

Castor

Fertilizer Management

  • Farmers are advised to utilizing the available soil moisture and take up top dressing of urea @13 kg /acre at 30 to 35, 60 to 65 and for hybrids apply additional dose of urea @ 13 kg/acre at 90 to 95 days under sufficient soil moisture condition.

Semilooper

  • Current weather conditions are congenial for semilooper incidence in castor.
  • Farmers are advised to spray chlorpyriphos 20 EC @2 ml/L and carbendazim @1 g/ liter of water.

Cotton

Fertilizer Management

  • The cotton crop is at the vegetative to flowering stage.
  • As dry weather conditions are prevailing, farmers are advised to spray NPK 19:19:19 @ 5 g per liter of water as a foliar spray during the vegetative stage.
  • At the flowering stage, spray Potassium Nitrate (13:0:45) @ 5 g per liter of water as a foliar spray to help the crop withstand moisture stress and minimize the adverse effects of drought.

  • The current weather conditions are favourable for sucking pest incidence.
  • Advised to setting up of yellow sticky traps @ 10 per acre for monitoring whitefly incidence and blue sticky traps @ 10 per acre for monitoring thrips incidence.
  • For effective controlling of Suckig pest in cotton , farmers are advised to follow the following schedule.
  • First spray: Imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 0.3 ml/L or Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 0.2 g/L of water.
  • Second spray (10–14 days later, if needed): Flonicamid 50 WG @ 0.3 g/L or Sulfoxaflor 24 SC @ 0.4 ml/L of water.
  • Third spray (if whitefly nymphs persist): Buprofezin 25 SC @ 1.6 ml/L or Pyriproxyfen 10 EC @ 1 ml/L of water.

Maize

Fall Army Worm

  • Farmers are advised to monitor incidence of fall army worm in maize by arranging 4 pheromone traps per acre.
  • If the trap catch is more than 10, they are advised to spray neem oil @ 5ml/L of water.
  • Based on the intensity of the pest they can go for spraying of emamectin benzoate @ 0.4 g per liter of water based on local weather conditions.

Pomegranate

Thrips

  • Pomegranate is at vegetative to fruit initiation stage.
  • Present weather conditions are favourable for incidence of thrips, Bacterial leaf blight, fungal leaf spot and fruit spot incidence in pomegranate.
  • To control thrips, farmers are advised to spray [email protected] ml/L or Imidacloprid@ 0.3ml/L of water .
