Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
- Farmers must form a cluster group of at least 20 farmers covering a contiguous block of minimum 20 acres
- Applicable on all crops — field crops, fruits, vegetables, spices, pulses
- Land must not have been treated with synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers for at least 3 years (for certified organic conversion)
- The group nominates a lead farmer or cluster coordinator

How to Apply for PKVY Organic Farming

PKVY operates through clusters. Organise with neighbouring farmers and elect a cluster coordinator. The entire cluster applies collectively.
- 2Apply through your district agriculture office or ATMA
Submit the cluster application form with all members' Aadhaar, land records, group affidavit, and area map to the district Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) or Block Agriculture Officer.
- 3Cluster is registered and soil sampling conducted
The district agriculture office registers the cluster, assigns a certification agency, and collects initial soil samples to baseline nutrient and chemical residue levels.
- 4Receive inputs and training for organic conversion
PKVY provides organic inputs (compost, bio-inputs, bio-fertilizers), training on organic practices, and supports the 3-year conversion period from conventional to certified organic.
- 5Certify and access premium organic market linkage
After conversion, the cluster obtains PGS (Participatory Guarantee System) organic certification. PKVY supports market linkage through e-NAM, organic fairs, and institutional buyers.
